Located in the middle of the beautiful Gelderse Achterhoek are and close to De Veluwe, Hotel-Restaurant De Scheperskamp is the ideal base for various cycling and walking excursions. City buzz

Are you looking for the buzz and liveliness of a larger city? If so, check out the Hanseatic League cities of Zutphen or Deventer.  Zutphen is a city of striking towers and stately merchants' houses, and its many picturesque courtyards can be admired during a walk through the city. Deventer is considered one of the country's oldest cities and is famous for its cake. For more than 400 years, this city has enjoyed international fame for the high quality of its spiced cake, locally produced sweets called 'bijtjes' and its honey cake. Are you a true shopaholic? Tips

•	The area is known for its beautiful castles and estates, which include the eight castles of Vorden, Huize Ruurlo, Huis Verwolde and the Kloese.
•	The estate and the actual Huis Verwolde are also definitely worth visiting. The Verwolde estate has the largest oak trees in the Netherlands!
•	Would you like to get lost in the largest labyrinth in the world? Then check out the labyrinth in Ruurlo.
•	Ruurlo Cactus Oasis; a very special piece of desert! With its highly unusual pyramid built from cacti, the Annie Cactus Cactus Oasis is truly unique in the Netherlands.
•	The Hanseatic League cities of Zutphen and Deventer are a very short distance from Lochem, and pleasant shopping centres and historic buildings make these cities well worth a visit
